NCFSDC January 2006 Minutes


The January 7th meeting was held at the Best Western Gateway Grand, Gainesville, FL Thirty-six members/guests gathered for the Sunday Brunch Buffet and meeting.

President Michael Scarabino welcomed everyone to the NCFSDC meeting. He thanked Stephen Cade for hosting this meeting.

Treasurer's report:

The treasury's beginning balance was $xx.xx. With total deposits and withdrawals, the ending balance for December 31, 2005 was $xx.xx

Old Business: Membership dues are due now. The yearly membership is $15.00. Mary Cade reminded everyone to join the national Studebaker Drivers Club, Inc. For information call 763-420-7829.

Meetings: month and locations

February 18 at The Villages If you are planning to drive your Studebaker, you must arrive before 2:00 p.m. for the parking. You will be informed later where the meeting will be held and the time..

March 11-12 at Rainbow Springs cabins. Plan to attend to help your committee finalize plans or work on projects for the Southeastern Zone Meet. Call Charles and Ann Grant to reserve your space. There are five cabins reserved for our club.

April Ist , 11am at the Pole Barn in Gainesville, FL This meeting is to tie up all the loose ends and to make sure everything will run smoothly at the Southeastern Zone Meet.

April 28-30 Southeastern Zone Meet - Rest Western Gateway Grand, 4200 NW 97th Blvd., Gainesville, FL

May 20 - Jerry Faircloth and Ronnie Williams will host the meeting with a barbecue on the banks of the Ocklawaha River.

June I0 - Ronda and Michael Scarabino no 's pig roast

July 8 - Sue and Gerald Tucker will be hosting this meeting at their home.

August 12 Tarpon Springs. This will be a tour of A] Weisman's Museum of Classic Cars.

September 24-29: International SDC Meet in Omaha, NE.

October - State Meet in Jacksonville

November 11 - George and Georgia Matt will be the hosts.

December 2 - Catfish Johnny's. This will be the annual Christmas Party.

New Business:

Personal note: Bob Oaks will have hip surgery on the 8 th of February. Greg Becker's mother passed away. Sam Clay will celebrate his 50th Anniversary. Ernie and Dee Keith are planning to sell their car.

Zone Meet:

Report from Edith Fifer: A sign up sheet sheet was passed around donations of food to be in the hospitality room. We need volunteers to "man" the hospitality room. So please consider time(s) you can volunteer,

Saturday morning will be a continental breakfast and Stephen Cade will provide the lunch at noon in the hospitality room.

Judging: The members decided that the judges could enter cars as long as they were not judging the division their car was in. Stephen said be thought that two judges per division would be enough.

Registration fees: Once a month Edith will send the moneys to Ronda for deposit.

Carport Sale: outside Sue Tucker will set up an area for selling various items. Everyone is invite to join her with your crafts, canning, etc. Set up time will be 3:00 p.m. on, on Friday April 27

Awards will be put together at Stephen's meeting at the Pole Barn. Jeff Rice will bring samples to the next meeting. Rick is working on the dash plaques,

Committees will meet at Rainbow Springs in February.

T-Shirts: The wholesale cost of the T-shirts will be $10.00. Half of the money is to be paid before the printing and half of the money on delivery. The agreement of the club was selling price of $12.50.

Vendors: Inside vendors will pay a fee of $20.00 per table used. If an outside vendor wants to use a table, the price will be $20.00 also.

Publicity: Danny is working on getting ads run in the Gainesville Sun, Gainesville Magazine, on the radio stations and has a web site set up for a page advertising the Southeastern Zone Meet. Web page is bulletnose.org.

E-mail: Edith received an e-mail from Ed Burris, thanking the club for remembering him on his birthday with a card from all of us. Be sure to vote for director of Southeast Zone page 56 in the Turning Wheels Magazine.

February meeting - we will decide what we will wear to distinguish ourselves from the people coming to the meet.

Gerald Tucker won the 50/5 0 drawing of $xx.xx

Michael adjourned the meeting with the request that the members take a tour of the Motel to formalize themselves with facilities.
