| SDC Minutes - Saturday, July 9, 2005 The club met at National Parts Depot in Ocala at 11:30 a.m. There were 28 in attendance. Members arrived in a 1962 Cruiser, 2 1964 Daytonas, 1962 Modified Lark, 1937 Coupe Express, 1963 Avanti, 1966 Daytona and several Brand X’s. Ricky Schmidt, co-owner of NPD gave us a tour of his family’s car collection of 140 or so antique and later model cars, most of which boasted low mileage. At 1:30, we met at Big Rascal’s Bar-B-Q for lunch and a meeting. Michael Scarabino called the meeting to order at 1:45 p.m.. The Minutes were approved with one correction. The new Vice President is Gerry Goodrich, not Gerry & Carol Goodrich.Michael Scarabino handed in the treasurer’s report. Copies will be sent to Charlotte and Orva.Old Business:Jeff Rice reported that the wood we hoped to buy from a demolished Studebaker Building had already been sold on e-bay, but the seller does have more wood that he will sell us at the same price. The wood will be easier to use for plaques than the wood sold on e-bay. Jeff has been authorized to make the purchase.New Business: Charles Grant announced that the Rainbow River Meeting is scheduled for the second weekend in March. He has already reserved cabins.Bob Cade invited everyone to come to the Polebarn to see his “new” 1962 Slide Roof Station Wagon. It arrived recently from Kansas.Dave Engel introduced his new son-in-law Clay Jones. Clay recently returned from Afghanistan and he and Andrea spent part of their honeymoon in Florida. Derwood Thompson asked that we change our calendar so that the party at Catfish Johnny’s is listed as the Annual Christmas Party, not the Annual Holiday Party. This met with approval.There was no 50/50 drawing because the Tucker’s were vacationing in England.The next meeting is scheduled for September 10 in Deland. Stephen Cade will check with John Meynelt about the details and make sure that information and a map are mailed to everyone.Please keep Kathleen Marsh and Charlotte & Bill Delli in your prayers. Kathleen’s sister and Charlotte’s brother have died recently. |
