NCFCSDC Minutes The March meeting of the NCFSDC was held at Damon’s in Old Town, Kissimmee, Florida on March 19, 2005 with sixteen members present. The meeting was called to order by President Derwood Thompson at 2:25p.m. The first order of business was the acceptance of Nancy Thompson’s resignation from being secretary of the NCFSDC . The resignation was accepted. There was a discussion on whether to vote for a new secretary or to have a volunteer. It was suggested and accepted that the club ask for a volunteer. Orva Kaufmann volunteered to fill in for the rest of 2005. With a secretary in place, the meeting preceded with old business. Old Business: The minutes were read by Martha Cade and accepted. The treasure’s report: starting balance $XX.XX, deposits of $XX.XX, withdrawals $XX.XX with an ending balance of $XX.XX. The treasurer has set aside money for the 2006 Zone meet. This account will be a sub account in the general account. Next meeting: April 2, 2005 at the Coachbuilders in High Springs. Hosts Don and Donna McCullen. A time change has been agreed upon by the club with the Zone Meeting Committee to meet at 9:30 a.m. and the regular meeting at 10:30a.m. There will be a map and directions for the Coach Builders meeting. The members can bring guests to the meeting. It was suggested that a new roster of club members be sent out to each member. The passing of Dan Quinn was mentioned and clippings from the Gainesville Sun were shown to the members present. Danny Thomas informed the group that he was working on the web page and that there was a lot of information contained on it. Edith Fifer said Danny has done a good job with it. To get user name and password contact Danny. New Business Martha Cade confirmed a contract has been signed with Best Western for the 2006 Zone Meet. A $50.00 washing fee was included in the contract. The dates for the meet are April 28-30th, 2006. We will have a free room for a meeting room – hospitality and registration will be in this room on the ground floor. It was suggested that we collect donations for drinks offered. There are 50 double rooms ($79.00) and 50 king ($89.00) set aside for the meet. Edith Fifer reported that she had most of the information for the form but was still waiting for a couple of items – 1920’s theme, gangster or flapper dressed person for the cover before printing them up. The committee was going with the same company for printing that did state meet in 2003. The committee would like to take the registration forms to the state meet, October 28-29, 2005. Rick Coutier showed some graphics of This is the year of the Studebaker – 1920. He suggested using this advertisement from the year as part of the logo for the meet. He suggested using the taxi with members of the club dressed in period clothes. He said he could take any picture and personalize the way the club wanted it to look. It was suggested that Danny take a picture of the hotel and taxi for Rick to use as a design for advertisements, etc. The t-shirt designed already is to be sent to Rick. A motion to adjourn was called for. Don Fifer made the motion to adjourn and Gerald Tucker seconded the motion. |
