NCFSDC MEETING MINUTES
JANUARY 9, 2005 The North Central Florida Studebaker Driver Club had the monthly meeting on January 9th, 2004 at the Pole Barn Newberry, Florida. OFFICERS PRESENT: President - Derwood Thompson, Vice President - Michael Scarabino, Recording Secretary - Nancy Thompson, Treasurer - Ronda Scarabino, Tourmaster - Stephen Cade , Newsletter Editor - Charlotte Delli , Membership Secretary - Ronda Scarabino Fund Raising - Sue Tucker Due to the fact that there were numerous guests as well it was difficult to determine exactly who was in attendance and what cars were driven. The turn out was exceptionally good with approximately 80 cars and over 120 guests and members. The 50/50 was run by Sue Tucker with the help of Gerald and the winner of $73.00 was Nancy Husselman, a guest. After the 50/50 drawing all guests were advised they were welcome to attend the meeting or leave as they saw fit. No formal Agenda was adopted. The meeting started at approximately 1:15 PM. The minutes from the December meeting were corrected to indicate Michael Scarabino as the new Vice President and Ronda Scarabino as the Membership Secretary as well as the Treasurer. TREASURE'S REPORT: (info not available online - refer to monthly newsletter) OLD BUSINESS: 1) Zone Meet for April 2006: A) The first report on the old business was by Martha Cade concerning the 2006 Zone Meet. It was moved seconded and adopted by majority vote that the Best Western Grand at I-75 and NW 39th Avenue would be the site for the Zone Meet, and that Martha Cade had the authorization to make the appropriate deposit and lock in the weekend of April 28, 2006 and sign any necessary documents. B) The second decision on the Zone meet was the food. It was motioned and seconded that the meal would be a buffet with three entrées and that the Food Committee would make the decision as to which entrees and sides would be selected. C) The Registration Committee offered the suggest that Edith Fifer bring a sample registration form to the next meeting for the 2006 Zone Meeting including suggested entry fees and other details. This will then be passed out and voted on at that time. D) The question of 1920‚s music was brought up and discussed. Danny Thomas was authorized to research the availability of this type of music for use by our DJ and report back to the next meeting with his findings. E) Derwood presented Dr. Cade a sample of the T-Shirts and Mugs which can be made available at the Zone meet. The vendor will set up to make the t-shirts on site with a photo of a car of your choice and to ship mugs at a later date. The club‚s decision to offer this particular option at the Zone Meet has been confirmed with the vendor. The vendor has to maximize profits we make arrangements for raw materials in November for December of 2005. Ten percent of everything sold will be returned to the club as income. The sample Mug and Shirt were made available for all members to inspect. F) The information on the Logo and the Zone T-Shirts was discussed and several ideas were considered. It was suggested that anyone with ideas bring those ideas in a visual presentation to the February meeting so that we have a better selection of what can be done. G) The next topic was the meeting in February at Rainbow River. Stephen Cade has asked that anyone interested in attending this meeting get in touch with him immediately so that he will be able to give Charles and Ann Grant a count of the number of cabins which will be needed. H) Martha Cade has solidified our entire monthly calendar chapter meeting dates except June and July. She would like to be able to publish the complete calendar in the next newsletter. If you are able to provide a meeting place for either of these months please contact her as soon as possible. I) We had several new members join. The name and address of these people will appear on our website www.bulletnose.org. as soon as Danny Thomas is supplied with complete information. J) Stephen brought up that the AACA club needs for help in parking cars the weekend of March 5, 2005. Please contact him as soon as possible if you are able to help with this. NEW BUSINESS: A) One of the new members Vicky Quinn has asked for assistance with door prizes and cars to be exhibited at the „3rd Annual Charity Car Show for the benefit of the March of Dimes. The Show is being held at the Oaks Mall (behind Burdines on Saturday January 29, 2005 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. For further information you can contact her at 352-333-8489.
