December Meeting Minutes
The December meeting of the NCFSDC was held on 4 December 2004 at Catfish Johnny's restaurant in Lake Panasoffkee, FL. The meeting was called to order by President Derwood Thompson at 6:00 p.m. Thirty-one members were present. Studebakers driven included a 1959 Golden Hawk, a 1950 Packard, a 1952 Champion, a 1964 Daytona, and a 1956 Flight Hawk.
President Thompson started by announcing that the meeting would be abbreviated in the interest of the annual gift exchange which followed.
The first order of business was the election- of officers for 2005. It was noted that all positions except those of the secretary and the membership chairperson had incumbents who indicated that they would serve another year. Charlotte and Bill Delli indicated that they had already served for the past two years and would not be able to continue as secretary and membership chairman, respectively. By a unanimous voice vote, the incumbents were re-elected. For the position of secretary, Nancy Thompson was nominated and elected. Michael Scarabino was nominated and elected to be the membership chairman. Both nominations were approved by a unanimous voice vote. Charlotte Delli said that she would volunteer to continue as newsletter editor, but she did not want to keep someone else from volunteering if he or she wanted to publish the newsletter. There were no other volunteers and it was approved for Charlotte to continue the newsletter.
The meeting schedule for 2005 was also discussed. Stephen Cade offered to host the January meeting on the second Saturday in January at the barn in Newberry FL. Charles Grant announced that he had reserved cabins at the Rainbow River Resort for February. It was agreed that the May meeting, hosted by Jeff Rice and Jerry Fairchild, would be at the cruise-in at The Villages near Leesburg FL; the details will be worked out. It also was noted that in April, the North Georgia SDC was hosting the second annual state meet. Club members were reminded that the NCFSDC had volunteered to help at the AACA car show in Gainesville, FL, on March 5, 2005. Help is needed with parking which starts at 7:00 a.m. There will be between 300-350 cars attending. All car owners must be a member of the AACA in order to enter a car in the show. The remainder of the NCFSDC meeting schedule for 2005 will be finalized at the January meeting. It is hoped that by establishing the schedule at the first of the year, the events will be included in the Turning Wheels.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned for the Christmas Party. |
