MEETING MINUTES

The October meeting of the NCFCSDC took place on October 11, 2003, during the annual Florida State Meet. The Chapter meeting was held in the hospitality room of the Hilton Hotel in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

Eighteen members attended the meeting & eight Studebakers were driven to the meeting. These included a 1911 EME, a 1990 Avanti, 1964 Lark, 1950 Starlight Champion, a 1952 Champion, 1957 Hawk, 1953 Starliner and a 1963 GT Hawk.

President Edith Fifer convened the meeting at 2:00 p.m. The first order of business to introduced new member Sam Dixon. She also mentioned that Jean and Dean Gessner had rejoined the Chapter and were present.

The November meeting was discussed. It will be November 8, 2003 at the home of David and Jewell Lumpkins in Hernando, Florida. The Lumpkins will provide the meat and drinks Members can bring a covered dish or dessert and any special drinks they need. Lunch will start at noon with the Chapter meeting to follow.

Members were reminded that the December meeting will be on December 6, 2003, at Catfish Johnny's at Lake Panasoffkee, Florida. We also will have a gift exchange. Catfish Johnny's will be the site of all future Christmas parties as well.

Membership numbers have not changed since the previous meeting There are 43 paid memberships with 76 active members.

An official treasurers report was not available but Charlotte Delli was able to give an estimated amount based on money and bills she had for the treasurer. The last reported balance was $xx.xx. To this amount $xx.xx in dues and $xx.xx from the raffle are available to be deposited in the bank. From this, $xx.xx needs to be paid for the past year's postage for the newsletter. This leaves an estimated balance of $xx.xx depending on any other transactions by the treasurer. The Chapter will wait until an official report is available before approving the treasurer's report.

Charlotte Delli reported that she has submitted the application for a grant for the 2006 Southeast Zone Meet to the Alachua Tourism Bureau. President Fifer reminded members that volunteers are needed for the meet. Charlotte responded with the fact that she has received only 12 volunteers as of this meeting.

Derwood Thompson explained that he had obtained a price on shirts and caps. Shirts without pockets in white and gray are $10.00. Other colors are $13.00. Shirts with pockets are $12.00 and $15.00, respectively. Hats are $10.00. Sam Dixon stated that he knows of a firm in Daytona Beach, Florida, that can provide shirts at a lower cost. Ronda Scarabino indicated that she would be willing to be responsible for shirts once the contract is set up. It was agreed that Sam Dixon would bring samples of the shirts to the next meeting. Derwood Thompson indicated that he had a cleaned-up version of the logo digitized. It cost him $95.00 to have it digitized. Charlotte Delli motioned that Derwood be reimbursed for his cost for digitizing. Bill Delli seconded. The motion was approved by unanimous voice vote.

President Fifer explained that the person occupying the secretary's position will maintain all historical records and documents for the Chapter. If anyone has anything to be preserved, it should be given to Charlotte Delli.

Martha Cade provided a report on the planned cruise-in. There is a conflict the second weekend of January, it was agreed that the committee will check on the January 17, 2004

Mary Cade motioned that pictures of members be provided so everyone would know who everyone is since there are so many new members. Ronda Scarabino, seconded. The motion was approved by unanimous voice vote. Details will have to be worked out.

Before the meeting adjourned, Charlotte Delli requested that current members who will be 75 years old or older in 2004 let her know so that they could be designated honored members. Honored members have all of the rights and privileges of active members but do not have to pay dues to belong to the NCFCSDC.
