Danny Thomas provided a report on the club's web site. The web site is loading slowly but this will be improved in the near future. A membership form which can be completed from the web site has been added. Before, the interested party had to request the form to be sent. So far, there have been 150 hits on the site. Some people, from foreign countries such as Canada, Spam and Portugal have been accessing the site.
President Fifer reminded everyone about the cruise in sponsored by the Hospice of Gainesville that will be held on 13 April. She provided flyers about the cruise-in at the meeting since there will not be time to publish it in the newsletter. Everyone was encouraged to participate.
Bill Schettino provided an update on the club shirts. He stated that he had delivered customized shirts to several of the club members and remitted $22.00 to the club treasurer. $2.00 for every shirt purchased by members is donated to the club treasury.
Bill also explained that he had lost his NCFSDC roster and had a difficult tune getting in touch with one of the club members. He recommended that, 'in addition to the paper roster that was sent with the April newsletter, a copy of the roster be posted on the club's web site. Only those with a password would be able to access the roster since personal information is included on the roster. It was motioned and seconded that such a roster be posted on the web site. It was approved with only one dissenting vote from Danny Thomas, the webmaster. He stated that he would have to learn the technology, but he was willing to do so. His dissenting vote was provided in jest.
George Matt announced that he had obtained badges with 'individual names for those members he knew would want one. They are $7.00. Anyone who did not get a badge can order one through George. He also has caps with the club logo for $6.25 and window stickers with the logo for $2.00. He sells these items for what it costs him. The question was raised whether the window stickers could be obtained that can be placed on the interior of the vehicle window rather than the exterior. George stated that he still did not have that information but he is pursuing it.
Jerry Fairchild provided an update to the planned participation at the cruise-in at 'Me Villages on April 20th. Participants need to meet behind Publix no later than 2:30 pm. The Studebakers will then be moved in a group to the display site. Latecomers will be on their own to find a place to park. The show will be over about 8:30 pm, but those needing to leave earlier can do so. They need to be parked near the end of the display so that they will not get boxed in.
The sponsorship of University of Florida engineering students' project car was discussed. Barrie Thelin explained that she thought that they had gotten a tire company to provide tires. Tires cost about $500 per set. She said that she would check and the matter was tabled until a later meeting.
Charlotte Delli was requested to report on the investigation of whether the by-laws needed to be amended to reflect some changes in dues and meeting schedules. She apologized and stated that she had not obtained the information. She will try to have it by the next meeting.
President Fifer called attention to the article about Senate Bill 1766 that was in the last edition of the newsletter. She encouraged everyone to respond and try to have Section 803 defeated. Charlotte indicated that family members could get involved. Names and addresses for senators, in addition to those in the newsletter, can be obtained at

The floor was then opened to new business. Danny Thomas stated that at the December meeting having a NCFSDC show had been discussed for the fall of 2002. The idea had dropped from discussion but will be reintroduced at the next meeting. President Fifer urged everyone to come with ideas.
It was also mentioned that the show at Buddy Freddy's restaurant may be moved from October to November. Members will be informed when a decision is made.
