North Central Florida Chapter of the Studebaker Drivers Club Minutes
November 4th 2000
The meeting was called to order at 6:23pm during the Fall Festival Car Show on November 4, 2000. The show was put on by The Suwanee River Region AACA.
President Stephen Cade presided
- The club was informed that Roger Thelin and Don & Edith Fifer each won a first place trophy at the state meet in Boca Raton
- It was also made known that the North Central Florida Chapter of the SDC will host the next state meet in October 2001
- Edith Fifer provided literature to the club on the facilities at the Best Western on NW 39th Avenue and I-75 in Gainesville. This being a possible site for this next state meet. The hotel has ample parking -- enough to put on such a show. The hotel also has banquet facilities and conference rooms. Also the Key West Diner is located in the hotel.
- Edith also found out that there are no Gator football games in Gainesville during the month of October. Space in the hotel shouldn’t be a problem. She’s also looking into tee-shirts for the meet.
- Stephen Cade suggested we go into this more at the clubs next meeting.
- A motion was made to have our next chapter meeting at Catfish Johnny’s in Lake Panasofkee by Derwood Thompson -- motion carried -- Derwood will handle the details for this meeting.
- Stephen Suggested that this be our meeting/Christmas party and more information will. appear in the next newsletter.
